Glamorous....is an under statement!

Who said curtains weren't fashionable? Our gorgeous client Betty had one request for her bedroom...."just make it look nice".....we were delighted to give her a very glamorous & slightly over the top bedroom.....all of her furniture was stripped & re stained gloss black & a metallic gold/silver...then reupholstered....how amazing! The use of William Morris wallpaper with a combination of silks, linens & velvets....ahhh we absolutely adore it! And hope you do to!

The North Meets West

The new look "The Oriental Asian Dining".......this place was seriously stuck in the 80's ....& now we have converted it into Hollywood Glam! Have to say we absolutely love high gloss black.....even the painters kept asking "Are you sure you want it black" it looks so hot! We were on a budget so it is amazing what you can do with new carpet, paint, wallpaper, fabulous feature lights, new chairs....Oh & of course s & j xxx

The view says it all.....we do have the best job in the world, to be privileged to work on the above project was amazing. We styled these apartments ready for sale, who needs artwork with this stunning backdrop.

Whilst the architecture was sooo contemporary the vertical timber blinds & honey floor gave us great inspiration to go for an eclectic mix of furniture & accessories....whilst the sofa & armchairs are so high fashion we softened the edges with horns, cow hides, textured cushions & nickle candlesticks...mmmm

Can you believe we used tiles for this bathroom? Believe it or not these timber boards are actually ceramic....our client wanted a tasteful beachside retreat that was light, airy & open plan & must include a splash of his fav colour blue....

We must note the water plane is just amazing...1700mm in length custom made limestone....how simple & elegant for a beachside scheme....thinking there is no storage?? Right behind those mirrors is four full shelves for all your bits & pieces!

Retail Boutique......we helped Melissa Kritsotakis out in her recent shop fit out.....we combined her love of Moroccan design to suit the boutique space in Mosman Suite 1/5 Spit Rd Mosman....we sourced old timber planks from a warehouse, lacquered & sealed them & placed antique hooks to hang her amazing dresses off.....the planks were then suspended from the ceiling using old chain...the pressed metal acted as a perfect back drop to those wanting to check themselves out in the mirror....makes us think of Santorini or somewhere fabulous on the beach side....xx

McMahons Point Bedsit

Recent Projects.....we have just had one of the greatest bedsits to refurb in McMahons Point, apart from fabulous clients that allowed us creative ability...as long as we considered the apartment to be user friendly to all of its over nighters!
We wanted to create a modern classic appeal with loads of interest & graphicness....lots of black, white, charcoal and notice the hints of emerald green – an absolute flavour of the month.

Whilst the scheme has so much black...notice that light grey walls has still allowed the space to feel open & ambient at the same time.....there's a tip for anyone that is feeling afraid to use strong & dark colours.....balance it out with light walls & ceilings.....So the use of Emerald Green, not only do we adore this colour right now it adds that hint of Hollywood Glamour.....

How amazing the architecture of the bridge is.....not only do the lines & structure provide graphic interest....the shadowing is just beautiful

DITC goes Blogging in the City

So its about time the Girls at Designers in the City start to blog......every day in our world of amazing interiors & exteriors we are exposed to many inspiring scenes that everyone should see!

We spent the weekend snapping some fab shots of Sydney's harbour....just for fun! What a beautiful back drop we have right at our finger tips.....result amazing artwork for a project we are working on in McMahons Point - check out the studio apartment that we have just refurbed...I think we may have to move in.....

So what's on this week with the girls...apart from ongoing work....Sonia searches for the perfect coffee table coral...Jacinta heads to Byron for R&R and perhaps some inspiration for seaside chic interiors....
